Today I had the privilege of photographing one of the Olympic torch runners in Radium, BC. The weather was great driving to radium, but overcast skies were hanging on the Radium side of the mountains (and of course the runners wear "overcast skies" white). A few tweaks to the flash and camera settings and it all worked out. It's been 22 years since the last Canadian Olympics and the last time I touched an Olympic torch until today. I look forward to telling my grand-kids.

Tonight the Olympic torch came through Banff, since I did not plan to stay to far from home it was convenient that it actually came right by my house. My kids enjoyed it from the front steps and I went and took some photos of the hand-off. I have a job in couple days with the Olympic torch in Radium, BC, this should help me get an idea what I'm up against.

Blue sky and an awesome wedding, in central park, Banff, Alberta, married by the Mayor of Banff. I'm sure these two have a great story to tell about it. We did some photos with the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel at surprise corner, before heading to the reception. A few samples:

What are great time, I walked away from this wedding on cloud 9! So many great friends and family here, I felt a vibe in the air where I know how much I love what I do. The cake was an amazing R2D2 model (that's right R2D2 from Star Wars), it was at least 18" high. Amazing (and yummy)! Here are a few from the day.

Wow, what an event - this wedding was a 3 day camp out at a northern Alberta lake. I was awarded tons of opportunity to make lasting memories. Over 100 guests, a lake, fireworks and great couple to work with, a dream project.

Today, Courtney came in the house commenting about a strange train bell. Knowing that the Steam Train is off for the year, I thought nothing of it. Then as we're getting in the car to head out for a little drive, since the kids can't play outside, due to measles, the bus for The Royal Canadian Pacific drives by. The Royal Canadian Pacific is a 1950's style engine done up in the old Canadian Pacific Railway motif. When I looked to the train station and saw it was vacant of any trains, yet the bus was there, we figured it probably went to Lake Louise and the bus was awaiting them, I decided to take a chance at catching it returning at Morant's Curve. No such luck we looked for it all the way to Golden and passed the bus going the opposite direction of us on our way back. They seem to do a circuit quite a bit Calgary, Banff, Golden, and back through Waterton Park. I guess I'll need a different photo to pull together my railways calendar.
